Publication (where do I submit?)

Your mentor, senior resident colleagues, and/or other Faculty can guide you to which journal to submit your work. You can also use the Journal/Author Name Estimator (JANE) website: https://jane.biosemantics.org/. Write a paper describing your research study in a format appropriate for that target journal (found on the journal web site). The format varies significantly. Your paper may be: accepted, accepted pending modification, or rejected.

You can also use the PUBSHUB Journals & Congresses website: https://journalsandcongresses.pubshub.com/journals/IpDashboard to search for further information on each journal such as rejection rate, impact factor, and submission to acceptance (how long is the “turnaround” from submitting, 4 weeks or 12-17 weeks?).

Authorship: all people listed as authors are responsible for the content of published/presented work; everyone who is listed needs to have the opportunity to review and abstract/article prior to submission. The most widely accepted definition of authorship for scientific publications is a consensus statement published by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE): Authorship credit should be based on: 1) substantial contributions to conception and design, acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data; 2) drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content; and 3) final approval of the version to be published.
